The Kent Stage began as a part-time folk music venue in 2002, when the Western Reserve Folk Arts Association assumed operation of the struggling Kent Cinema. Now we are about to celebrate our 20th Anniversary year and the 501(c) non-profit organization continues to operate “The Stage.”
Tickets and other sales cover roughly 90 percent of the venue’s operating expenses; however, we depend on the Friends of The Kent Stage to help cover that other 10 percent. With that help and good management, we were able to sustain the venue during the recent shut-down.
During that time, we were also able to greatly upgrade the venue with new HVAC systems, lobby, entry, carpet, seating, stage, various mechanical updates and last but not least, new restrooms. As a Friend of The Kent Stage, you truly are responsible for allowing us to continue to operate and grow. In addition to the personal satisfaction of supporting this fantastic venue, your membership provides you with the following exclusive benefits….
