Michael Weber is bringing his friends together for an epic birthday party concert filled with new music, improvised collaborations with special guests, and outrageous stories.
The Michael Weber Show is a high-energy rock ‘n roll group hailing from Akron, OH. Weber’s sound has garnered him attention including winning MTV’s “Amazingness” television show and performing/recording with numerous Grammy winners, Rock Hall inductees, and music legends including including Counting Crows, Nils Lofgren (E-Street Band), Jim Peterik (The Ides of March), and as musical director/guitarist/producer with garage rock legends, The Shadows of Knight (“Wild Man” released on Little Steven’s Wicked Cool Records).
With a wide array of creative endeavors, Weber’s career also includes numerous movie scores such as “Satanic Hispanics” directed by Eduardo Sánchez (of “The Blair Witch Project” fame), the invention of the “Baritone Guitarlin” an innovative 35-fret guitar created in collaboration between Weber and Eastwood Guitars, and his social media content centered around his love of esoteric musical gear generating over 14 million views across platforms.
Special guests sitting in with the band include Robert and Jack Kidney from the legendary and unexplainably original 15-60-75 (The Numbers Band) and Paul Christensen, Rodney Psyka, and Marc Lee Shannon whose individual careers intersected for decades as members in Michael Stanley’s backing group, The Resonators. In addition to the band of Weber, James O’Connor (drums), Kevin McManus (bass), and Julian Dittmer (keys), more special guests will be announced later.
Bob Earley, Akron’s own untamed elder statesman of promotion, will kick off the night with his first-ever, one-man comedy show telling wild stories from his colorful life. As the longtime impresario behind the successful Rockin’ on the River concert series, talk radio host on WNIR 100.1 FM, and former owner of countless legendary Akron-area bars including Ramon’s and BC’s Bus Stop, Bob’s Renaissance Man persona has earned him diverse accolades including the prestigious Crain’s Health Care Hero award and an induction in the Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame. Having 6 kids with 5 women, a couple run-ins with the FBI, and 81 years as a magnet for absurdity, nobody’s sure if he’s nuts or not
