This October 22, 23, and 24 will mark the 50th anniversary of MSB’s recording of the iconic live
album, “Stage Pass”.
As an original member of MSB and the first person Michael ever asked to join his band, I’m very proud to have been the songwriter and lead vocalist on 5 of the 13 tracks on this classic album: “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Mind”, “Waste A Little Time On Me”, “Wild Sanctuary”, “Pierette” and “Strike Up The Band”; as well as lead guitar and background vocalist on Michael’s stellar tracks, “Midwest Midnight”, “Rosewood Bitters”, “Calcutta Auction”, “One Good Reason”,
“Moving Right Along” and “Let’s Get The Show On The Road”; and Daniel’s “Real Good Time”.
50 years later, it’s gratifying to know that these songs and this album continue to resonate with the people of Northeast Ohio and are as meaningful and loved as they were when they were first released.
These anniversary shows are also a very fitting time for me to start winding things down. After over 50 years of live performing, I’m proud I can still bring my “A” game to every concert I play for you all, literally the best fans in the world. But time marches on, so I’ll will be bringing my “MSB-themed” shows to a close with one last BIG event: the celebration of “Stage Pass 50”.
We will be performing Stage Pass in its entirety, in the original song order, this one last time. (You can expect a full set of Breathless and solo favorites as well.) All this will happen on the exact anniversary of two of the dates we recorded Stage Pass, October 22 and 24, at one of my favorite venues, The Kent Stage (the 23rd will be a day of rest “wink wink”). Fans have been asking me for years to do some earlier shows, so the October 24 show will be at 5pm.
